    Question:
I have been SO STRESSED OUT lately, is that affecting my ovulation?

    Answer:
Yes! It might! And it starts in the brain due to a feedback loop.
    .
When you make a lot of cortisol, epinephrine and nor-epinephrine to handle the stress that you are allowing in your life or your body, the brain goes, “Damn. This is probably not the best time to release an egg and get pregnant. She seems pretty maxed out and a baby is not going to make it better.”

Now, you DO want to ovulate because that’s when you make progesterone.
    .
And progesterone is our relaxing, calming, anti-PMS hormone! 😉
    .
Therefore all the stress hormones exert a negative feedback on the brain and down regulate the hormones FSH and LH that help your cycle run smoothly.
    .
    It’s survival over reproduction.
    .
Ever have a shit period month where every symptom was amplified AND it was also a busy, stressful last few months? Yeah.
    .
So. Now you know. The body is trying to protect you but unfortunately it can result in irritating symptoms…like more irritation. 😤
