Fertility awareness & body literacy is one I take seriously, not just for the adults enroute baby-making paths but for every young girl who is going crazy with all the signs showing up in their growing bodies. This education is critical because sex education is one that is not outrightly spoken about between young girls and their parents/guardian hence we have grown women who do not understand the reason God put Ovulation in our bodies and young girls who do not understand HOW GREATLY today’s lifestyle choices impacts their future. Today in view of international women’s day 2022 themed #breakTheBias , the Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc Women network Executives visited Apapa High school where we had a beautiful opportunity to share our growth stories with the Class of SS3 students. It was such deep conversations and I’m grateful to God that I’m in a position today where I could share with “a younger version” of me, what I wish someone like me now– could have shared with her. To also have these pretty damsels share their dreams and aspirations with me and get inspired to live their dreams- for me, has made my year! It’s always been my dream to live a life of impact, where I’m able to not just live my dreams but ENABLE the dreams of others by winning in my own battles. Amidst all I do for business, many do not know I have an 8-5. I do a 8-5 in a male dominated industry and as i shared my story , I was reminded that “I am the only female manager in my job category in the whole business group” If you need a proof of “what a man can do, a woman can do too and even better” then you need to look at me. There is space at the top for everyone- we are all running our individual race so no need to feel you need to outrun anyone. Do justice to your race& outrun your past achievements. There’s opportunity for everyone to be the best in what they do and to our young women, my message as we celebrate this year’s international women’s day is “Be willing to submit to continuous improvement and learning. Be willing to serve selflessly.
